How does LED work?
Light-emitting diode lights cleverly arrange between their electrodes using two semiconductor materials.
When a p-type semiconductor is connect-ed to a positive electrode and an n-type semiconductor is connected to a negative electrode. Electrons are activated and begin to flow from the negative side into the positive.
As these negatively charged electrons pass over positively charged particles, they produce light.
The conductive material commonly used in LEDs is AIGA or aluminum-gallium-arsenide. However, it is worth noting that alternative types are use when looking at how diodes work.

What is an LED?
